A blood test involves drawing a small sample of your blood and analysing it in the laboratory to look for markers of health and disease. It is one of the most informative single investigations in general practice — from a few millilitres of blood, a doctor can assess organ function, screen for infections, measure hormones, identify nutritional deficiencies, track chronic disease control, and pick up early signs of conditions that have not yet caused symptoms.
Blood tests are commonly used to:
We offer the common blood tests requested in general practice, plus specialised assays for specific clinical or regulatory needs. The list below is organised by purpose — click through where a dedicated page is linked for the full details.
Before some procedures, surgeons request a standard set of screening tests. A typical pre-operative package includes a Coagulation Profile (CG01), a Hepatitis B, C & HIV Profile (HP04), a Chest X-ray, and an ECG — WhatsApp us with your surgeon's checklist and we'll confirm what's needed.
If a test you need is not listed above, WhatsApp 8095 3275 with the test name and our team will confirm availability and price before you book.
Prefer to skip the clinic? We can arrange home health screening — a trained medical professional comes to your home or office for the blood draw and biometric measurements, and your results are emailed once the lab returns them. A doctor reviews any findings with you over WhatsApp or telemedicine afterwards. Practical for busy professionals, families screening together, or anyone with mobility concerns.
Convenient, discreet, and reliable. See the home screening packages and prices, or WhatsApp us to book.

Most of our screening packages do not require fasting — the default cholesterol test is non-fasting, and diabetes screening typically uses HbA1c (no fasting needed). Fasting is only required in specific situations:
| Situation | Fasting required |
|---|---|
| Noble, Crown, Crown Plus, Royal, Jewel packages Include HbA1c (no fasting glucose needed); default cholesterol is non-fasting | Not required |
| Ace ($76) and Elite ($130) packages Use fasting blood glucose to screen for diabetes (no HbA1c included), so food beforehand can artificially raise your reading | 8 hours |
| Marvel package and above Includes Ultrasound Abdomen, which needs organs to be clearly visualised without interference from digestion | 8 hours |
| Adding Ultrasound Abdomen or Ultrasound Liver to any package Organs need to be clearly visualised | 8 hours |
| Known high cholesterol or currently on cholesterol medication Recommended for the most accurate lipid profile | 8 to 10 hours |
When fasting is required:
Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines do not require fasting for routine cholesterol testing. A few practical notes:
Please let our team know if you are menstruating on the day of your health screening. Ideally, schedule your appointment for 10 to 14 days after the start of your last period. You can still proceed if menstruating, but be aware that menstruation may affect the CA125 tumour marker result and may cause blood to appear in urine or stool samples.
What patients in Singapore most often ask about blood tests at our clinics.
Yes. If you have specific tests in mind — whether for symptoms you're tracking, an employer or insurance request, pre-treatment clearance, or general curiosity about a particular biomarker — WhatsApp us with the test names and we will confirm availability and price before you book. Custom requests need a brief consultation (consultation fee $49.05 NETT) so your doctor can ensure the test is appropriate and interpret the result in context.
Most of our packages do not require fasting because they include HbA1c (for diabetes screening) and use a non-fasting cholesterol test as the default. An 8-hour fast is required for the Ace ($76) and Elite ($130) packages (which use fasting blood glucose), for Marvel and above (which include Ultrasound Abdomen), and any time you add Ultrasound Abdomen or Ultrasound Liver to another package. If you have known high cholesterol or are on cholesterol medication, an 8 to 10 hour fast is recommended regardless of package. Singapore MOH guidelines do not require fasting for cholesterol, but avoid alcohol and fatty meals for 12 hours before the screening as these can skew triglycerides and LDL. Plain water and your usual medications are fine during the fasting period.
Turnaround varies by the test, ranging from 1 to 7 working days. Routine panels (FBC, lipids, glucose, liver function, renal function) are usually back within 1 to 2 working days. Specialised assays like QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus take 2 to 5 working days; liquid biopsy and complex cancer panels can take up to 7 working days. Results are delivered securely by email, with a brief consultation arranged if any value needs explanation or follow-up.
Most routine blood tests at private GP clinics are paid out of pocket and not directly MediSave-claimable. However, blood tests done as part of certain national screening programmes (e.g., Healthier SG, Screen for Life) and tests done for chronic disease management under CDMP may have MediSave or subsidy eligibility for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Most corporate and personal insurance policies reimburse blood tests if ordered for medical investigation rather than wellness screening — check with your insurer before the visit if cost recovery is important.
Not necessarily. Most blood test results can be reviewed via WhatsApp or a brief telemedicine consultation once they are back. If a result needs further work-up (chest X-ray, further blood tests, ultrasound, referral) your doctor will explain the next step and arrange it. In-person review is offered if you prefer it.
Yes. For QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus and most other blood tests, we can prepare a signed medical memo or stamped report formatted for your employer, school, or immigration authority at the same visit. The memo is an optional add-on charged at $49.05 NETT. Let us know the purpose when you book and the exact form your authority requires.
It depends on your age, family history, current health and what you actually want to find out. Entry-level packages are sensible for younger adults with no specific concerns; mid-tier packages add hormonal and cardiovascular markers; premium tiers add cancer markers, imaging and more detailed panels, which are typically sensible from around age 45 onwards or when there is significant family history. Pre-marital packages cover reproductive and infectious-disease screening for couples preparing for marriage. WhatsApp us with your age and any specific concerns, and our team will recommend a package that fits — your doctor can also tailor the contents at the visit.
Men's health services — screening, testosterone, erectile dysfunction, hair loss and weight management — are available at all four clinics. Dr Joel practises at Jurong; our other male physicians cover Tanjong Pagar (Anson House), Orchard and Novena. Medication from telemedicine consultations can be collected at any location.
